Exchange Dublin

Nextchange

Hear ye, hear ye! The Exchange Collective have gotten together and had a big long think about what to do next.

Exchange Dublin Founders: Andreas, Jonah and Dylan (who couldn't make it and was filled in by the lamp) at milk and cookies.

Yesterday at a little event we call NexTchange we shook off the cobwebs and had some nice deep thoughts and animated discussions.  Not content with simply providing Dublin with it's very best Arts space we've decided to make it even better. What's better than best? Us! (soon)

So what did we actually decide?

We're to up our promotional prowess and push our fantabulous events with more mail-outs, extra posters and a general go at giving out info.

We're also getting serious and formalising our volunteering a little bit. Over the next year and a half Exchange hopes to break off from our sister organisation the Project Arts Centre, leave home, find a nice girl (or boy) and perhaps even foster a little misfit Arts organisations of our very own.

Towards that we're cleaning up our act and re-defining what it is to be a volunteer. On the 28th of this Month there's a compulsory volunteer meeting (oooh). If you're a volunteer in the space or would like to be one you absolutely positively have to be there. We'll be throwing out the rule book... ok we don't actually have a rule book... But we'll be writing one!

That's all for now. See you on Wednesday.

    • 10:30am
    • The ‘Fun and Games’ FREE “Taster Day” will act as an introduction to The ‘Fun and Games’ workshops that will be running in The Exchange from Monday 5th March onwards. They are as follows: Mondays – Workshop 1. Arts & Crafts: make and do fun, straight out of after-school television. Think Art Attack with a sprinkle of Blue Peter. Tuesdays - Workshop 2. Drama Games for Non-Actors: a series of entertaining and challenging games designed to allow anyone to access their spontaneous, creative side. Wednesdays - Workshop 3.Mixed Bag: A selection of schoolyard, party and board games played in a structured yet fun, and inclusive environment. The day will involve a combination of elements from all three workshops. Participants will be given the opportunity to get a glimpse of each and see what tickles their fancy! Each workshop will take place one day a week over a 4 week period. Alternatively, there is also the option available to be daring and sign up for one entire 3day fun filled week, and experience them all! We feel that adults often deny themselves the opportunity to simply let go and play, and so miss out on the joys and simple pleasures that can be experienced through engagement in play activity. We hope that our workshops will encourage adults to change their mind set to believe that “you are never too grown up to play!"
